Newspaper Notes



Basic Parts of a newspaper
  1. Two sizes of newspaper
  2. "Broadsheet" - type of newspaper is tall and folds in the middle, The Eagle's Eye 
  3. "Tabloid" - more squared, The Chronicle is a type of tabloid
  4. Photos, headlines, sub-headlines, story, date, captions, teasers
  5. Jumps, are in the front page telling you to continue the story in a different page
  6. Lines are part of layout
  7. "Flag" is the name of the newspaper
  8. "Folio" reference information
  9. Headlines are complete sentences
  10. Attention grabbers
  11. Captions
  12. Bi line shows who wrote the story
  13. Stop tells you when stories end
  14. Kickers (tags)
  15. Info-graphic - graphic form to show information
