Photoshop magazine title extra credit

Holiday and hopes

1.) Something that was fun over the break was I got to go to my friends 18th birthday party and it was amazing because I was with all my friends and they helped me have a great time hanging out with them!
2.) My new year resolution for 2014 is to be more honest with everyone. I feel like I sometimes I tell people what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.
3.) In 2014 I'm looking forward to my scout trip to Philmont and my family reunion.

Best magazine covers of the last 40 Years

#29 Fortune (October 1, 2001) (TIE)
This special edition of Fortune, entitled, "Up From The Ashes," shows a man covered in ashes after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. This portrait of a man walking through the rubble after the twin towers crumbling from the attacks. The use of fading the background emphasizes the man and uses simplicity to make the subject, who is the man walking, a very clear subject. The portrait conveys a feeling of sadness as the man looks down to the ground and seems to be crying.

Magazine Essential Parts

1. Masthead, Selling Line, Date Line, Cover Lines, Main Image, Model Credit, Main Cover Line, Barcode, Left Third
2. Masthead shows the name of the magazine. Selling Line has a phrase that makes people want the magazine. Date Line shows the day that the magazine is for. Cover lines tell main topics discussed in the magazine. The main image is the picture to get the audience's attention. Model Credit tells who the model is and what they do. Main cover line is the line that says the main topic of the magazine. The barcode is what is used to buy it and the Left third must be organized and attractive, because some stores save space and only show the left third.

Fixed Portrait Shoot Submission

ISO - 100, F-number - 4.0, Shutter speed - 1/8

ISO - 400, F-number - 5.0, Shutter speed - 1/15

ISO - 800, F-number - 6.3, Shutter speed - 1/20

ISO - 1600, F-number - 6.3, Shutter speed - 1/40

ISO - 3200, F-number - 7.1, Shutter speed - 1/60

The best photo is the ISO 1600, or the fourth photo. The second best would be the ISO 3200 or the fifth one. I feel I made equivalent exposure happen very well for all the pictures turned out well with hardly any differences. I did this by changing the aperture and shutter speed. I learned no matter the lighting you can always get a good picture with a good photographer.

Favorites

My favorite song of 2013 would be Demons by Imagine Dragons. This song came out a couple months ago near the end of 2013 and I liked it a lot, so I started listening to it more. I really enjoy it even if I have heard it 10 times previously that day
The best movie would be Hunger Games Catching Fire. When I went to see this movie I saw it opening night as a double feature so that is one reason I liked it so much. I believe it is the best because it had great acting and it was a very action packed plot.

The most important news story of 2013 was the Oklahoma tornado. I saw pictures of the rubble and it cause hundreds of homes to be destroyed and caused massive amounts of other damage. I believe it was the most important because it caused so much destruction

The two most important people would be the creators of Minecraft. All of last year I was playing it everyday at lunch because this was so much fun. I had a lot of fun playing it so they would be the most important people.

The biggest sports person of the year would be Lebron James. I love basketball, and he is one of the best players ever. I am not on the team but I like playing for fun as well as my church team. He is who I look up to in basketball, because of his dedication.

Best Photos of 2013

This is showing what it looks like at sunset on the top of a mountain. It brings joy to me because I have climbed the tallest mountain in Texas and I remember seeing a view almost as awe-inspiring as this. The contrast of the shadow vs light makes it a great example of simplicity, with the clouds as a solid background.

This image of a waterfall keeps the rocks in focus and sharp but the water seems to be in motion to create a sense of falling. The viewpoint makes this shot great because it emphasizes the size of the waterfall. It also is framed by the surrounding rocks and greenery.

This is a great example of how you can use mergers to your advantage. It is not a usual shot which is why I like it. The girl combines with the setting sun to make it feel like she is holding it up and shining the light to the world.
